Webinar summary

Learn to walk before you can run! Taking on bigger cases comes naturally once you can comfortably deliver single tooth restorations and quadrant restorations. It’s important to nail the foundations of daily Occlusion – using the right tools and collecting the right data WITHOUT the need for fancy gear.

In this webinar, focusing on restorative dentistry, Dr Jaz Gulati reveals the importance of practical occlusal principles over theory. Learn why checking occlusion before procedures with the right tools is key for precise results and how to assess the biomechanical risk of our patients. There will be a practical video demonstration of the assessment steps.

Through real case studies, Jaz shows the impact of minor occlusal adjustments and emphasizes customized care for each patient. This lecture aims to provide dentists with practical occlusion strategies, as well as thought provoking questions about how you manage common daily scenarios (and whether they are correct!).

Learning Modules

  • Demonstration of the correct selection of articulation paper and the optimal way to use it, from initial choice to final adjustment of the restoration based on occlusal contacts and the occlusal scheme.
  • Assessment of the patient’s occlusion before and after the restoration process.
  • Examination of canine guidance and its role in occlusion, with steps on how to restore it simply if it is missing.
  • Diagnosis of dental wear and parafunction, along with treatment planning based on these findings.
  • Practical guidelines to enhance the durability of anterior and posterior restorations, reducing the likelihood of failure (featuring step-by-step video instructions).
  • Analysis of when dental wear is considered normal versus pathological.
  • Presentation of real-life cases through videos and photos, showcasing everything from treatment planning and tooth preparation to the final occlusal adjustments.
  • Evaluate the biomechanical risk of a patient
